However, the LV has complex internal structures such as trabeculae carneae (TC) and papillary muscles (PM) on its inner wall, which may cause blood stagnation resulting in thrombus formation. Web1 okt. 2024 · We retrospectively reviewed all patients with the diagnosis of left ventricular thrombus on transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) at our institution from 2010-2024. Patient were included in the study if they had undergone cardioversion and had had a TTE 4 weeks prior or 2 days after cardioversion showing left ventricular thrombus.
